HAACHAMA COOKING SIMULATOR is a free horror simulation video game wherein you get to cook a strange soup of your own design. Developed by zyo sylver, this is an adorable-looking 2D cooking game that lets you play as Haachama, the alter ego of Japanese VTuber Akai Haato. This fanmade game was created as a celebratory gift for the Akai Haato Hololive fanbase reaching the one million subscriber milestone on YouTube. Beware, though, as this has horror elements.

Akai Haato is a female Japanese Virtual YouTuber working under hololive, a Virtual Idol agency for VTubers. She’s one of the agency’s first generation of VTubers and is quite famous for her split-personality character named “Haachama.” Haachama’s persona is different from hers as she often displays an unsettlingly insane personality and sometimes even clashes with Akai whenever she streams. Akai Haato became quite popular through this dynamic, and eventually reached 1 million YouTube subscribers.

In celebration of that milestone, HAACHAMA COOKING SIMULATOR was released. This game lets you control Haachama in her iconic wacky cooking show, wherein she often creates disastrous dishes. The same concept is found in the game—you must create a soup using interesting and weird ingredients. Adding items to the cooking pot will give you points and different total scores will trigger different endings. However, this game isn’t just all cuteness and happy cooking fun.

Since this is the creepy Haachama you’re playing, you’ll eventually find a certain ingredient that will then trigger a path to the Horror ending. This game contains fourth-wall-breaking psychological horror elements that aren’t suitable for children. You’ll find creepy visual effects that are the norm in Akai Haato’s streams whenever Haachama starts acting up. Unfortunately, this means that to fully enjoy the game and its numerous references, you need to be quite knowledgeable about the Haachama lore.
